In June 2015, Chandler was found to suffer from a rare brain tumor called medulloblastoma. He underwent two brain surgeries at a local hospital, during which doctors were able to remove part of the tumor. Chandler’s family then turned to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital for his continuing care.

At St. Jude, Chandler’s treatment will include 30 rounds of radiation therapy and seven rounds of chemotherapy. Families never received a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food—because all a family should worry about is helping their child live. “St. Jude means everything to us,” said Chandler’s mom, Cindy. “I don’t think we could be in a better place. We’re thankful to be here. We have complete faith and trust in Chandler’s doctor and nurses.” Chandler is a juniorin high school. He likes to play guitar and video games.
