Tuesday night (March 27), Sugarland took the stage of ABC’s hit dance show ‘Dancing With the Stars.’ But they weren’t there to test out their dance skills on the American public. Instead, the duo offered up two live performances during this week’s results episode, providing the music for dancers to do what they do best.

In their debut appearance on the show, Sugarland’s Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush joined singer-songwriter Matt Nathanson for their 2011 joint release ‘Run,’ which first appeared on Nathanson’s own album.

During the melodic, anthemic tune, Tristan MacManus and Peta Murgatroyd took the dance floor to dance an engaging, enticing rumba. It was a pretty cool picture with one couple singing the sensual song and the other providing a dance to the same music.

For their second performance, Sugarland reclaimed the stage on their own and brought forth their much more up-tempo song ‘Find the Beat Again,’ while dancers Sasha Farber entered the dance floor with three female dancers — Oksana Dmytrenko, Sharna Burgess and Emma Slater. The second performance was entirely different from the first, right down to the feel of the music and the attire of the dancers, but both brought a nice element, as the live music and dance complimented one another nicely.

Sugarland are currently up for Vocal Duo of the Year at this weekend’s ACM Awards. Following the April 1 live event, the duo is scheduled to begin their 2012 In Your Hands Tour — but first, the band is expected to appear in court to testify about the Indiana State Fair stage collapse tragedy which occurred last August.
