Whether you're in favor of it or not, The United States Supreme Court began the first, of probably many days directed at hearing arguments and deciding if President Obama's federally funded Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (a.k.a. "Obamacare") is constitutional.

Next comes the burning question: What does Cowboy Troy think about the issue? Don't get that look on your face. I know you're curious.

I think this is a gigantic issue that should have never been rushed through our two houses of government so fast in the first place. It is so important that everyone involved understand, especially the people it will affect the most, and especially when you're attempting legislation that will fundamentally change the way our democracy works in the first place.

That said, I understand "none of it." I understand that our progressive leaders believe this is the best solution available to ensure universal health care for all of our citizens. I understand that our conservative leaders believe it's an illegal mandate that will not be an improvement over our current system, and will add many more zeros to our national debt, while making it a crime to deny.

I see both points, and yet I still don't understand! I don't think I'm alone on this issue either. How can we all go into this situation willingly, not knowing what all of the repercussions might be? Just because a car looks great on the lot doesn't mean that everything is in fine working order under the hood.

I grew up on "Buyer Beware" and know that there are plenty of unsavory people out there who care about nothing but separating me from my money. I'm tired of that. And as always there are pundits on both sides purporting to know exactly what it's all about without seemingly knowing what it's all about. That's why I want to know what's going on, and am looking to our nation's highest court to spell it all out for me in layman's terms.

I want to understand. I need to understand. We all need to. I will be paying attention with great detail as we debate the legality of what single-handedly could become the most significant and wide reaching piece of legislation ever to be enacted.
