If ‘American Idol’ winner Scotty McCreery keeps this pace up, he’ll be performing the halftime show at the Super Bowl before long. On the day the 18-year-old performed the National Anthem to kick off the World Series, it was announced he’d be performing at the 2011 CMA Awards in Nashville next month.

When country’s finest return to Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena to film this year’s ‘CMA Country Christmas’ special on November 10, there will be some familiar faces on stage — starting with the event’s host. As she did last year, Sugarland‘s Jennifer Nettles will emcee the evening, which finds country stars sharing personal stories and performing some of their favorite holiday songs.

Kenny Chesney is helping pay tribute to some of Nashville’s finest with his CMA Songwriters Series, which brings a rotating cast of country stars — including Dierks Bentley, Ashton Shepherd, Brett James, Craig Wiseman, and more — to audiences around the country. But if you aren’t lucky enough to have tickets, don’t worry: the tour’s Boston stop will come to you.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. The CMA is sticking with what works for the 2011 CMAs, tapping Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood to return for their fourth round of hosting the awards show.

Yee Haw!  Cowboy Hats off to  Miranda Lambert!  She pulled off a major feat over the weekend.  Of course, it's a lot easier for her now that the former Nashville Star contestant is a Grammy, ACM, and CMA Award winner.

You're My Best Friend was written by Wayland Holyfield and recorded by one of the greats, Don Williams, in 1975. Before making it big, Don was a member of Pozo-Seco Singers, a '60s folk group.  Don, and his trademark cowboy hat have also made several television and movie appearances over the years.  A good friend of Burt Reynolds, Don played "Leroy" in WW And The Dixie Dancekings, and ha
