With Easter in the works this weekend, I was thinking about how I could contribute to this festive occasion without putting myself out too much. I mean, c'mon. I deserve to enjoy my holiday too, right?! You know I'm joking, right...kind of.

Well, since I'm not going to come over and help you hide eggs or stuff the deviled ones, I will give you the next best thing - a trip back to 1977 and The Easter Bunny Is Comin' To Town.

Thank Arthur Rankin Jr. and Jules Bass for giving us this spring sequel to their popular Santa Claus Is Comin' To Town. In fact, substitute characters, genders, seasons, and holidays and you've pretty much got the same story. Needless to say, The Easter Bunny Is Comin' To Town didn't make quite the same impact as other Rankin/Bass stop-motion puppetry powerhouses. That's even with the legendary Fred Astaire on board for another run.

That didn't stop me from enjoying it. I've always remembered the theme song. And Rankin and Bass are just cool. You know it and I know it. I mean, who doesn't enjoy puppets, catchy tunes, and trains. It was fun for me to revisit the adventures of "Sunny." That's why I thought it would be fun to force it on you too.

Here's a clip for you to check out. I dare you to watch the whole thing. I double-dog dare you to memorize the songs.

Everyone at My Country hopes you have a wonderful Easter, and are able to count your blessings! You'll always be one of ours.
