Time To Get Out An Work For A GREAT Casper Cause

The Casper community is one of the most giving I've ever been a part of. Most every week you can find a fundraising event for an organization, and the community shows up to support and ensure that particular organization is taken care of.

It's really an amazing thing to see, and I get to see it first hand with Thankful Thursday. Week in and week out, the support for these organizations is incredible. This fall we've already been able to make thousands of dollars to go toward helping kids, families and organizations achieve their goals and missions.

One of those groups happened to be the Casper Community Greenhouse Project.

Studies show that 90 percent of Wyoming adults don't eat the recommended daily amount of vegetables. That's why Casper Community Greenhouse Project was founded: to offer food education resources, as well as affordable local produce, to residents of Casper, Wyoming. We believe that a community garden can unite people and improve health within our community.

Grow Casper is already putting the money they earned from Thankful Thursday to good use with a community fence building work day. The group is in the process of building a community garden on East 2nd street and need volunteers to donate time and manpower to help put fence on the 5-acre property.

On Saturday November 4th, from 8am-12pm, they're having a work day and need volunteers.

Eric Lovell, Casper Community Greenhouse Project Operation Manager says:

This workday is geared toward getting our community garden off the ground. We'd love for as much community support as possible.

Our two biggest goals with this organization are to teach people about agriculture and then also to grow produce for the community. If you don't know much, bodies are always great. There's a lot of work to be done and we're excited to do it.
