21 Day Fix –Day 4
August 21, 2014
As many of you know, I was very successful on the Ideal Protein Diet.  I lost over 65 pounds! I’m not proud to admit it, but slowly that weight has been creeping back on. I promised myself that I would not buy bigger clothes, so it’s time to do something about it now! So, I have decided to do the 21 day fix. I am going to share my experience with you from day to day during the entire duration of this adventure!
So, today is day four of my 21 Day Fix!! (I’ll tell you more about the program daily)

The main focus of the 21 Day Fix is portion control of healthy foods.
The plan also comes with the workout videos…. I will workout every day for 21 days.

You are encouraged to use Shakeology on this program, and after only 3 days, I am really finding it difficult to swallow, literally.  I can’t get past it’s bitter taste, but like I said, it is recommended, not required.  So, today I tried another protein shake that I had and it was pretty good.  It was vanilla, and I added PB2 which is a peanut butter powder substitute.  Here's a list of ingredients and Nutritional facts:

I like both the Peanut PB2 & the Chocolate PB2 and when you're adding it to a shake, I really don't taste a difference between it and real peanut butter or something like Nutella.  I have yet to try making it into a paste and using it instead of peanut butter, and I doubt that I will.  I think you're better off with Natural Peanut Butter or even Almond Butter.  For my shake, it works just great!

Day 4 workout was tough,  and I'm still finding myself doing the modified version for some of it!   I’m feeling a lot less sore too, but that could certainly change after today's butt whipping!  Remember to always drink plenty of water during and after your workout.

My overall mood this week has been a little cranky, and that is too be expected when you first start any diet or begin a clean eating regimen.  If you're like me anyway!  :D

I  have a party to attend this weekend, so that reminds me once again about how important it is to prepare.  It's a good idea to go ahead and eat before you go to a party just in case there aren't healthy choices available.  Many times, you can always find something to eat from a deli tray and/or fruit & veggie trays, but it's better to not take a chance.  Also, when you are bringing a dish, make it a healthy one, and that way you know you at least have something you can eat. Also, if adult beverages are available, your best bet is to opt to be a designated driver and avoid alcohol all together.  But, if you choose to have a drink, a small glass of red wine (4oz) is acceptable.  To me, that isn't even worth it, so I will just avoid it all together.
Some of you are probably great at meal planning…. you workout with passion… you are awesome at eating healthy foods in healthy portions. But I am not, I get off track easily! But with a little help from the 21 Day Fix and some encouragement from my friends and family, I know I’ll be back on track in no time!
So, this is my 21 day journey. Day four is complete and I’m feeling pretty good!  On to Day 5!
