A two vehicle crash north of Rawlins on August 30th has resulted in the death of two men. The two were in separate trucks. Next of kin notifications have yet to be made so the identities are not being released at this time. The crash happened at 11:10 p.m. on US Highway 287 approximately 24 miles north of Rawlins, Wyoming.

A pickup was traveling northbound on US 287 when the driver crossed the centerline into the southbound lane of travel. A southbound pickup truck attempted to avoid the oncoming vehicle, but the two trucks collided head on.

Both men were not buckled in and died at the scene. There were no passengers in either vehicle. Alcohol and controlled substance use along with excessive speed are being investigated as contributing factors in this crash. The fatalities were the 101st and 102nd highway fatalities in Wyoming for 2015. There were 101 fatalities on this date in 2014.
