Access to North Mike Sedar Park will be closed on Monday to complete utility work for the construction of the new pool, according to a news release from the City of Casper.

Park visitors will not be able to get to the recycling depot, BMX track, and the tennis courts.

Visitors may still access the activities field closer to College Avenue.

The work is expected to be completed Wednesday. The parking lot and access road will then be reopened.

The city's recreation division broke ground on the project in May.

The Mike Sedar Pool project was awarded to Ohlson Lavoie Collaborative Architects for design and construction oversight and to Caspar Building Systems, Inc., for construction.

The new Mike Sedar Pool area will include a lazy river, spray features, play structure, and a slide. The construction includes the pool, lifeguard room with dedicated first aid space, locker rooms and restrooms, mechanical room, irrigation and landscaping.
The project costs $4,276,000 and will be funded primarily with Optional One Cent Sales Tax revenues.
