The University of Wyoming at Casper’s commencement ceremony will honor 94 graduates on May 15 at 7:30 p.m. at the Casper Events Center. Maria Kuznetsova, assistant lecturer of psychology at UW-Casper, will offer the faculty reflections, followed by the student speaker Ashley Nickolai Schilling, candidate for a bachelor’s degree in biology.

Wyoming Secretary of State Max Maxfield will offer the commencement address. Serving as the twentieth secretary of state, Maxfield was elected in 2006. He is a Rotary Paul Harris Fellow, a Hospice board member, a Wyoming Industrial Development Corporation member, a Frontier Certified Development Company member, and president of the Cheyenne Animal Shelter Board of Directors.

Degrees will be awarded in biology, communication, criminal justice, elementary education, English, mathematics and science, psychology, secondary science education-biology, social science, social work, and technical education.

Brent Pickett, associate dean and director of UW-Casper said,

“The UW-Casper ceremony is truly special, A lot of faculty, administrators, and staff travel from Laramie to see and help confer degrees on UWC students. It is small enough so that we can have every graduate walk across the stage and shake President McGinity’s hand, but large enough to make it a great community celebration.”

A reception for graduates and their families will immediately follow the ceremony.
