The Sheridan VA Health Care System will hold its annual Veteran Homeless Stand Down in Casper on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at the Eagles Bowl & Café located on 306 North Durbin St. Doors will open at 8am and close at 5pm.
This all day event is targeted to men and women who have served in the U.S. Armed forces and are in danger of being, or are homeless. Various State, local and Federal agencies will be on hand to help Veterans find housing, medical assistance, food and warm clothing. “The VA has a goal to end homelessness among Veterans,” says Kathy Berger, Sheridan VA Health Care System Director. “ In Wyoming we are fortunate to have such a fantastic local and state infrastructure that reaches out to the men and women who need help.”
Organizations willing to provide community resources, warm clothing, blankets, sleeping bags or even canned food items can contact Jenn Fairbanks at Sheridan VA Health Care System at 307-675-3248.
