Water Line Work on Country Club Road in Casper
On July 6, workers began digging up Country Club Road from 2nd to 4th Streets in order to replace water lines. Once work is complete in the area from 2nd to 4th, work will move to between 4th and 8th Streets, then to between 12th and 15th streets.
In order to maintain traffic flow, work will be done in one section at a time; once work is completed in the section, it will re-open. The section from 2nd to 4th is expected to be closed until early August. Work from 4th to 8th streets will then begin and finish in late September. Work in the section from 12th to 15th will begin in late September and be complete by early November.
The iron water lines are being replaced with PVC lines. The replacement is part of general city infrastructure upgrades. As part of the project the street will also receive minor storm sewer improvements, concrete curb and gutter replacements, and asphalt resurfacing. The work is expected to be completed by September 2016. If necessary, temporary asphalt patching may be used by the contractor to open the streets during winter shut down months.
The 1.8 million dollar project was awarded to Ramshorn Construction with WLC Engineering as the civil engineer. The project is being funded by optional one cent funds and water funds generated by water usage fees.
