When Sharks Fly

Something fishy is going on at a golf course in San Juan Capistrano, California.

Workers at the San Juan Hills golf course were shocked to find a live shark flopping around the 12th hole.

"Our marshalls were doing their rounds and came across the fish writhing on the tee," said Melissa McCormack, director of club operations. "It was about two feet long so he put in the back of the golf cart."

The shark most likely got to the golf course (which is more than a mile from the ocean) through the air … but it was a bird that was doing the flying. The thinking is that a bird grabbed the shark out of the water and dropped it while in flight.

The workers took the shark to the ocean and released it. "It was still alive," said McCormack. (Huffington Post)

Dead Man Walking

A man in Brazil gave new meaning to the term dead man walking when he walked in ... to his own wake.

The bizarre series of events began when Gilberto Araujo was mistakenly identified as the victim of a shooting.

You see, Gilberto works at a car was where a man was gunned down. Fearing the worst, Gilberto's brother went down to the morgue and identified his dead brother's body. The only problem was, he wasn't his brother. It was another car washer who happened to look like him. The body was sent to his mother's house for a memorial service.

At that same time, someone spotted Gilberto on the street and told him that his family was mourning his death. So, he rushed over to his mother's house and gave everyone the biggest shock of their lives. Some people passed out and others were so scared they ran out of the house. Meanwhile, the dead body lying in the living room had to be sent back to the morgue. (NY Daily News)

Release and Catch

A New Mexico man being released from jail apparently wanted to get right back in … because he allegedly stole $80 on his way out and used the cash to buy something to eat.

20-year-old Frank Rodriguez-Tapia was caught on security camera taking $80 from another inmate who was being booked into the jail.

After his release, Rodriguez-Tapia was supposed to report directly to an electronic monitoring office, but he decided to stop for lunch at a burger joint first.

According to officers, Rodriguez-Tapia admitted to taking the money and turned over the remaining $67. Hope it was a good burger, because he’s now looking at a larceny charge. (UPI)
