In 1988, Sarah Tolin broke through the gender barriers of high school athletics by challenging a Wyoming High School Activities Association rule that prohibited mixed gender teams. After a 2 year fight with the WHSAA, girls were allowed to participate in football and wrestling. Sarah went on to wrestle through high school and attended Casper College but transferred to Neosha Community College to continue her wrestling career. Sarah continued to develop her wrestling skills and was known nationally and internationally for her abilities. Sarah died in March of 2005 and her family turned to a sport she loved to celebrate her life.
