Winter weather including snow and even some fog has now moved into western Wyoming.  Winter Weather Advisories and Winter Storm Warnings are in effect for the western third of the state as well as for the Big Horns and around Sheridan.  Six up to 12″ of snow and locally heavier amounts are expected through Saturday morning in some some areas.

Further south, strong southwest winds are taking over, leading to a continuation of the mild temperatures in central and southern portions of the state.  A High Wind Warning is in effect through this evening for portions of central and south central Wyoming.  Wind could gust to 60 mph in the warning area.

The cold front will move through the rest of the state tonight.  Snow will spread from north to south and move into southern areas on Saturday.  The Sierra Madre and Snowy Range are also under a Winter Weather Advisory tonight through Saturday night, where up to 10 inches of snow are expected.   Snow accumulations will be lighter (1″ to 3″ in most areas) in other portions of central and southern Wyoming.

The entire state will be in line for colder temperatures this weekend.  Highs on Saturday will be in the 20s and 30s and then only in the teens and 20s on Sunday.

Livestock interests and travelers please be aware of rapidly changing weather conditions.  Allow for extra time if you do need to travel.
