If you're daily route includes driving East/West on CY, your commute is one 'BUMPY' ride.

I was just on that stretch of highway last night and remarked, "this road needs to be repaired soooo badly!!" If you've been on it, I know you've had the same thought.

Well, help is on the way. At it's latest meeting, The Wyoming Transportation Commission awarded Knife River Construction, Cheyenne, the mill and overlay project on Highway 220. It will take awhile do all the work, the completion date is set for June 30, 2018.

You will see crews on the 2.5 mile stretch of road between Wyoming Boulevard and Robertson Road with the mill and overlay work while also replacing three existing traffic signals on CY Avenue with new ones.

This Spring four miles of US 20/26/87, near Evansville, will get some mill and overlay work too. Crews are expected to complete this project by October 31, 2017.

The contracts awarded by the commission totaled $14 million dollars. The CY upgrade will cost 3.4 million while the 20/26/87 project will be completed at a cost of 2.6 million.

The contract is being paid for with 10-cent fuel-tax revenue. The rest of the contracts the commission awarded includes guardrail work, patching, slab replacement and other work throughout the state.

Knife River was awarded the project as the lowest bidder.
