Four teams that competed in postseason play highlight the 2013-14 Wyoming Cowgirl Basketball non-conference schedule announced by women’s head coach Joe Legerski.

“Once again, a competitive non-conference basketball schedule is in store this season for Cowgirl fans,” said Legerski. “Home games with Montana, Ball State and Colorado, all postseason teams, provides our fans an opportunity to watch basketball played at a high level. The outreach game in Sheridan will allow the fans in northern Wyoming a chance to see the Cowgirls up close. The challenges for this team in non-conference competition will be tremendous and will prepare us for a difficult conference slate.”

Wyoming will open up the regular season with two straight road games before their home opener on Friday, Nov. 15. They will tip things off by traveling to Sheridan, Wyo. to face Montana State-Northern, on Friday, Nov. 8, followed by a match-up against the Denver Pioneers, on Tuesday, Nov. 12. The first chance to catch the Cowgirls in Laramie will be Friday, Nov. 15 with a game against the Montana State Bobcats. The Pepperdine Waves will come in the following week with a contest on Saturday, Nov. 23. Wyoming will close out the month of November on the road against the University of South Dakota, on the 30th, in Vermillion.

UW will return home to the friendly confines of the Double A as they host NCAA participant Colorado, on Wednesday, Dec. 4. That will be followed by a trip to Colorado Springs, Dec. 6-7, for games against North Dakota State and SIU-Edwardsville at the Air Force Classic. The next two contests will see the Cowgirls back in Laramie. They face the Ball State Cardinals, a WNIT participant, on Saturday, Dec. 14, followed by the Montana Lady Griz, on Tuesday, Dec. 17. The Lady Griz won the Big Sky which earned them a bid to the 2013 NCAA Tourney. Wyoming will conclude their non-conference slate on the road against the Idaho Vandals, on Saturday, Dec. 21. The Vandals reached the NCAA tournament this past season and opened up the tournament against the eventual champion UConn Huskies.

The remaining portion of the schedule, the conference games, will be released by the Mountain West Conference office at a later date.
