Some say the University of Wyoming Cowboys basketball team played them selves out of a NCAA Tournament appearance with the devastating loss to San Diego State last night on the road in San Diego 67-41. Though it seems that for that last three years the Cowboys have been snake bitten in the final weeks of the regular season...three years ago the teams best scorer getting in a bar fight and getting kicked off the team the Pokes lost 5 straight. Last year the Pokes leading scorer tor an ACL and the Cowboys went into a tail spin. This year the Cowboys leading scorer Larry Nance Jr. has mono and no one is saying when he will be back. The University of Wyoming men's basketball team dropped to third in the Mountain West standings following a 67-41 loss to RV/RV San Diego State on Wednesday night in Viejas Arena. The Cowboys (19-6, 8-4 MW) entered the contest tied atop the league with the Aztecs (19-6, 9-3 MW), but played without leading scorer Larry Nance Jr. for a second-straight game to lose back-to-back games for the first time since March 2014. Wyoming returns to action on Saturday when the Cowboys host San Jose State at 4 p.m. MT in the Arena-Auditorium.
