Chief U.S. District Court Judge Nancy Freudenthal sentenced three defendants recently for firearms and illegal alien crimes, according to a news release from the Wyoming U.S. Attorney's Office.

Freudenthal sentenced Travis James Stevenson, 33, for being a felon in possession of a firearm. Stevenson was arrested in Laramie. He received two years, six months of imprisonment, to be followed by three years of probation, and was ordered to pay a $100 special assessment.

This case was investigated by the Laramie Police Department and the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

Freudenthal also sentenced two men for illegal re-entry of a previously deported alien into the United States.

They are Lizandro Pelico-Sontay, 30, of Guatemala, who was arrested in Jackson, and Juan De Dios Guerrero-Villanueva, 34, of Mexico, who was arrested in Cheyenne.

They both received time served, plus 10 days, and were ordered to pay $100 special assessments. They are subject to deportation after their release from custody.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement investigated these cases.
