Wyoming Seeks Redemption Against Eastern Michigan [VIDEOS]
The Wyoming Cowboys head back on the road Friday night seeking a measure of revenge. They play the Eastern Michigan Eagles in Ypsilanti, MI.
This is just the second meeting between the two teams. They met last year on Sept. 12, and the Eagles rolled past Wyoming 48-29. EMU scored 38 straight points and scored on six straight possessions in the first half of that game. The Cowboys lost despite 430 yards rushing in the game. Brian Hill ran for 242 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Wyoming head coach Craig Bohl admitted they don’t have to talk this game up.
Eastern Michigan is led by quarterback Todd Porter, though, Brogan Roback, who played against UW last year, returned from a two-game suspension last week. The Pokes are prepared for both. The Eagles are averaging just over 420 yards and nearly 40 points per game on offense. Their defense is anchored by linebacker Jeremiah Harris and defensive back Jason Beck. The opposition is averaging just over 400 yards and 21 points per game against them.
Bohl knows the Eagles are improved and feature a threat through the air and on the ground.
The Cowboys enter the game averaging 426.7 yards and 34 points per game. They allow 425 yards and 36 points a game.
This game was originally slated for Saturday, Sept. 24, but TV moved it to a Friday night game. Coach Bohl has experience with this scenario. He stated earlier in the week, they’ll do their best to adjust.
Wyoming is seeking their first back-to-back wins since the first two games under Coach Bohl in 2014.
Both teams enter at 2-1 on the season. Kick-off is at 5:30 p.m., Mountain Time, Friday. The game is available on CBS Sports Network.
In the Laramie area, you can listen to the radio broadcast on Y95 Country (FM 95.1) starting at 4:30 p.m. Friday.
