Join the Wyoming Symphony Orchestra February 19 at Wolcott Galleria in Downtown Casper for a unique live concert. Named after a 19th-century New York Irish street gang, The Wiyos are a vaudevillian ragtime blues, hillbilly swing and old-time country band. They started out in Brooklyn over a decade ago and developed their slick, rhythmic style, seamlessly melding old with new, as they toured across the United States and Europe. Their fresh sound and electric performance landed the band a 28-day run as the openers for Bob Dylan in 2011.

During their stay The Wiyos are scheduled to play six interactive performances for 4th and 5th grades students at schools in the Natrona County School District. On Thursday, February 18th they will hold a free workshop for high school and college students at Wheeler Concert Hall in the Casper College Music Building. The program is part of the WSO’s Music on the Move program presented with Casper College and the Natrona County School District Discover Program and sponsored by Sinclair Casper Refinery. For information about the workshop call the WSO office at 266-1478.

Tickets are $20 and all proceeds go to the Wyoming Symphony Orchestra Music on the Move program. The show opens with Colorado-based band, Ol’ Hickory, a throwback and country western with an edge. Doors open at 7 p.m. Purchase tickets online HERE or in person at the WSO office, 225 S. David St. Tickets are also available at Sonic Rainbow and Hill Music.
