For the grand finale of the 62nd concert season of the Wyoming Symphony Orchestra, they turn to the power and passion of Russia. The concert will begin with the pomp and circumstance of Tchaikovsky’s Polonaise from the Opera Eugene Onegin. Next comes the rock star of the violin world as the symphony presents international superstar Alexander Markov performing the universally adored Mendelssohn Violin Concerto. Finally the orchestra will raise the roof in heroic fashion with Dmitri Shostakovich’s stentorian, and inspirational, 5th Symphony. Music Director Matthew Savery joined us to talk about this last concert of the season.
