There are hundreds of great ghost stories in the great state of Wyoming. Perhaps the most chilling, terrifying and frightening tales come from our haunted graveyards. Here's a few of the creepiest cemeteries in the Cowboy State.

Sacajewa Cemetery in Fort Washakie - The purported resting place of the Shoshoni scout who guided Lewis and Clark's expedition is located on the Wind River Reservation. Since her death in 1884, several witnesses claim to have seen her ghost walking at night.

Bellevue Memorial in Sheridan - The legend of the Witches Circle dates back to the 1930s and surrounds a row of columns in this old cemetery. It was closed for nearly 50 years, from the late 1930s to the 1980s, and has since become a popular destination for brave visitors, curiosity seekers and generations of teenagers in the area.

F.E. Warren Air Force Base in Cheyenne - Dating back to the late 1800s, eyewitnesses have reported seeing a woman dressed in black walking in the old graveyard next to the officer's quarters.

Mount Pisgah Cemetery in Gillette - Several ghostly apparitions reportedly haunt this pioneer graveyard, including a jogger who appears around sunset and a faceless woman in a white dress.

Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Evanston - The Catholic section of the old Evanston graveyard is allegedly haunted by the ghost of a little boy who has been seen running through the headstones.

Greenhill Cemetery in Laramie - According to local legend, as Laramie grew near the turn of the 20th century, many dead bodies that had been laid to rest were dug up and moved here. Several ghost sightings have been reported since, including the image of a man dressed in black.

Lakeview Cemetery in Cheyenne - According to the book Haunted Cheyenne, several dogs have been attacked near the gate on the west side of the cemetery. Its unknown whether the entity is a person or the ghost of another dog.
