Casper, WY – A strong defensive effort coupled with solid goaltending lifts the Yellowjackets over Blackjack for the City League—Adult Hockey championship at the Casper Ice Arena. The Yellowjackets were backed by the only goaltender, Zack Breed (25 saves), who has won the City League championship in the leagues three year history.After a scoreless 1st period the Yellowjackets opened the scoring at 15:44 of the 2nd period with a goal by Jim Miller (1 goal, 1 assist) on an assist from Matt McPherson (1 goal, 1 assist). At the half-way mark of the same period the two combined for another goal. This time McPherson scored with Miller and Kevin Anderson (1 assist) getting helpers.

At 6:23 of the 3rd period Austin Lee (1 goal) sealed the deal with an assist from Andrew Savoy (1 assist). The only score for Blackjack came at 5:14 of the 3rd period on a wrister from James Ewald (1 goal) with an assist from Nick Schilling (1 assist).

Next up for Men’s hockey is the annual Red, White and Blue Tournament hosted by Casper Amateur Hockey Club (CAHC) March 30-April 1. Then City League is sprouting “Spring Hockey” for high school age players through adults (birth years 96 and older). Registrations are being taken now and play begins April 3.
