1 Dead, 2 Injured in Rollover Crash Near Casper
A Wyoming resident was killed late Sunday in a single-vehicle rollover crash on a highway southwest of Casper.
Brandon West, 24, was thrown from the vehicle as it rolled. He had been riding in the front passenger seat and was not wearing a seat belt, according to a crash report from the Wyoming Highway Patrol.
The wreck occurred at roughly 11 p.m. Sunday. The Ford F-150 in which West had been traveling was northbound on WY 487. At the T-intersection with WY 220, the F-150 failed to turn and continued straight across both lanes of WY 220, crossing into an open field.
The pickup truck continued through the field until it tripped and rolled, coming to rest on its roof.
West died at the scene.
The driver and rear-seat passenger were taken to Wyoming Medical Center for their injuries. They were not identified in the crash report, and the report did not indicate whether they were wearing seat belts.
Speed and driver inattention are being investigated as possible contributing factors in the wreck.
The road surface was dry and weather was clear at the time, per the report.
