Blake Shelton opened the 2013 ACM Awards on Sunday night (April 7) with his new single 'Boys 'Round Here' -- and he was joined by a few of his famous friends for a killer live performance.

These kinds of awards show guest-fests aren't always ideal musically, as there are typically too many people on stage who don't actually add much, just to have a bunch of names up there. But this was actually more like a true collaboration, with everyone on stage actually contributing to the performance.

Shelton started off alone, but was shortly joined by his co-host Luke Bryan. Sheryl Crow then came out, followed by Pistol Annies. Brad Paisley --  one of the few real instrumentalists among the current crop of country stars -- took a signature guitar solo from the audience before winding up on stage jamming at the end of the song.

And that's about as good as it gets.
