A tornado warning is in effect for the area of Evansville until 7:30 p.m.

The National Weather Service says a severe thunderstorm is moving northeast at 20 mph and is capable of producing a tornado.

Quarter-sized hail is also possible. A Severe thunderstorm warning is also in effect for east-central Natrona County until 7:45 p.m. Sunday.

Hail damage to vehicles is expected, as is wind damage to roofs, siding and trees.

The severe thunderstorm warning includes I-25 between mile markers 176 and 191.

A severe thunderstorm was located on radar over Evansville at 6:59 p.m. Winds could gust to 60 mph.

This thunderstorm will remain mainly over rural areas of east-central Natrona County including Fairdale Elementary School, Roosevelt High School, Casper Classical Academy Casper Events Center, kelly Walsh High School, Casper Wind Enxco Incorporation Wind Farm, Centennial Junior High School, Woods Learning Center, Frontier Middle School, Casper Central Wyoming Counseling Center and New Horizons Residential Treatment.

Take cover now, in a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows.

Flying debris will be dangerous to anyone without shelter. Mobile homes, should a tornado be produced, would be damaged or destroyed.

Anyone outdoors, in a mobile home or in a vehicle should move to the closest substantial shelter and protect themselves from flying debris.
