Cheyenne Man Facing Multiple Charges After Shooting Outside Bar
A 32-year-old Cheyenne man is facing half-a-dozen charges after police say he fired a handgun into a crowded sidewalk outside of bar, injuring three people.
According to court documents, police were called to the Lamp Lounge around 11:45 p.m. on March 25 after Christopher Bascus reportedly got into an argument with another man, pulled a .40 caliber handgun out of his pants and fired two shots towards the pavement.
Police say fragments from the bullets ricocheted off the concrete striking one woman in the chest and neck, another woman in the throat and a man in the knee.
Bascus has been charged with aggravated assault and battery-threatens with weapon, aggravated assault and battery-serious bodily injury, possession of weapon with intent, two counts of reckless endangering-conduct and carrying a concealed weapon.
Bascus' preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 5 in Laramie County Circuit Court. He could face up to 27 1/2 years in prison if convicted on all six counts.
