The University of Wyoming Cowboy Football team began a brand new season this afternoon at the War in Laramie. New coach, new quarter back, new team, new season. Cowboys came out victorious and defeated Montana in front of a sold out crowd 17-12. One highlight of the game was the work of Junior Shawn Wick. The running back finished the day with 22 carries for 122 yards and one touchdown. Nice day for the Junior. The Wyoming defense was stout as the Cowboys beat Montana 17-12 Saturday in their first game under new head coach Craig Bohl. D.J. May added 96 yards and a score for Wyoming (1-0), which has beaten Montana in all 14 of their match-ups. Of the 301 total yards gained by the Cowboys in the game, 209 came on the ground during the game, which was delayed twice by lightning for a total of about an hour. Wyoming's defense held the Grizzlies (0-1) to 253 total yards, including just 42 rushing.The Cowboys next game will be at home in Laramie against the Air Force Academy Cadets who defeated Nicholls State 44-16.
