Check Out The New University Of Wyoming License Plate
Wyoming law requires the state's license plate design to change every eight years.
You were going to have to get a new one anyway. It's been 8 years. Those things wear out and need to be replaced.
Each time the license plate is changed it has to be clearly different from the previous one. Yet it still must retain things like that famous Wyoming bucking horse and rider.
The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) chooses the new design years before it's issued to drivers.
The new plates are also intended to be easy for law enforcement to read
The University Of Wyoming announced its new Mountain Plate design is the new design of the UW license plates!
In April, thousands of UW alumni and current UW plate owners participated in voting for their favorite design.
The options included two designs featuring both brown and gold elements, with one showcasing gold mountains in the background and the other featuring gold stripes on the top and bottom.
Both designs prominently displayed "University of Wyoming" at the top and "GO POKES" at the bottom.
Sales of the current gold UW plate will conclude on May 31st, 2024.
Renewal Process: Current plate holders can conveniently renew and keep their existing number. Keep an eye out for renewal instructions from WYDOT later this year.
According to Donor Alliance, Wyoming is among the top five states for organ donor registration, but there’s always a need for more donors.
Thank you, Wyoming for caring and offering your life-saving help.
To raise awareness for the cause WYDOT has a new specialty plate to spread awareness of organ, eye, and tissue donation.
Any person interested in increasing awareness of organ, eye, and tissue donation and transplantation may apply for and be issued distinctive license plates for any motor vehicle that is not a commercial vehicle or multi-purpose vehicle owned or leased by that person upon registration of the vehicle.

The young man featured in the video, above, received a heart transplant right here in Wyoming.
General Provisions:
A completed application shall be mailed to the Wyoming Department of Transportation along with a fee of $30 made payable to WYDOT.
Plates will be issued numerically in consecutive order and forwarded to the County Treasurer's Office of the county of your choice.

By registering your decision to be a donor, you get the opportunity to give other people a second chance at life.
As an organ and tissue donor, you can help save and enhance lives.
