What Does This Old Readers Digest Say About Wyoming?
There I was, watching an episode of OAK ISLAND when they showed the Reader's Digest article that started the whole thing.
WAIT- what is that?
At the top of that Reader's Digest book was an article title that caught my attention.
Wyoming Tightens Up On 'Happy Time Money'
PAUSE THE TV SHOW- let's look that up.
I spent quite a while searching and finding old archives, but not the story that I was looking for.
I did find that there are a few copies of this edition for sale online.
Despite this, the Wyoming article eluded me.
People buy this copy for the Oak Island article.
That is what has made this old edition of Reader's Digest a valuable find.
If you don't know what the interest in Oak Island is, here is an explanation
Back to that article about Wyoming.
What the heck do they mean by "Happy Time Money?"
The subtitle is "National Civic Review."
It's hard to find anything on this because the article was written in 1965.
While plenty of old magazines and newspapers have been archived a significant number will be lost to time.
Should I buy this?
I found a copy on E-bay for $20 (not including shipping).
Send me a note and let me know.
In the end, the answer will depend on how much sleep I lose over the question of what this article was about.
Did you know what Wyoming's "Happy Time Money" was or why they decided to tighten it up?
I, for one, have never heard of it.
Frankly, I'm not sure if I want to know what that means.
