Wyoming’s First Charter School Celebrates 25 Years

Did you know that Wyoming's first charter school, Snowy Range Academy in Laramie, turns 25 this year? Snowy Range Academy is Wyoming's first charter school.

Since they are turning 25, they want to celebrate with YOU! Join them on Saturday, July 11th from 12–2 PM for a day full of fun, food, and Falcon pride!

They will be kicking things off with a parade float at the Jubilee Days Parade, followed by a BBQ picnic lunch in our playground area, complete with games, prizes, gifts, and keynote speakers.

This is a celebration for everyone who has ever been part of the SRA family — alumni, current students and families, teachers, staff, and community friends.

No RSVP needed — just show up at noon! However, if you're an alumnus and would like a commemorative T-shirt, be sure to RSVP at this link so they can save your size.

Snowy Range Academy is a free K-8 public charter school in Laramie, Wyoming. At SRA, we use the Core Knowledge sequence alongside enVision Math, character education, and, most importantly, parental involvement.

Founded in August 2002, Snowy Range Academy in Laramie, WY is the oldest public charter school in Wyoming. Created by a group of local parents seeking alternative education models, it initially spurred state legislative efforts to pass charter legislation. Housed in a remodeled former retail space, it serves K–8 students utilizing the Core Knowledge sequence.
