The Sweetwater County Sheriff's Office will hold a car auction next Tuesday, September 9 at their office in Rock Springs.

That's according to a post on the agency's Facebook page

Nine Cars Up For Bid

According to the post, the following cars will be up for bid:

- 2005 Honda Odyssey (starting bid of $100)

- 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan (starting bid of $528)
- 1991 Toyota Cressida (starting bid of $100)
- 2001 Subaru Forester (starting bid of $100)
- 1992 Buick Regal (starting bid of $100)
- 1991 Ford Econoline E350 (starting bid of $100)
- 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee (starting bid of $100)
- 1999 Subaru Forester (starting bid of $100)
- 1990 Honda Accord (starting bid of $100)
According to the post, the vehicles are abandoned property. The sheriff's office tries to locate the owners by placing  posts in public places and posts in newspapers, as required by Wyoming law. If no one comes forward the cars are auctioned off.
According to the post "We have no history on any of these vehicles, and most auctioned vehicles have no keys. All vehicles are auctioned as-is, with no warranties expressed or implied. We reserve the right to reject any or all bids.

Pickup for auctioned vehicles is by Friday, September 12, 2025, during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; cash-only payment."
The auction will be held on Tuesday, September 9 at the sheriff's office at 50140B US Highway 191 South in Rock Springs. The gates will open at 9:30 a.m., bidding starts at 10 a.m.
