An open house is scheduled for March 17 to look at three possible locations for a future Cheyenne passenger rail station.

According to a post on the City of Cheyenne Facebook page, the three sites are "along Old Happy Jack Road, along Reed Avenue near the former steam plant, and along a stub track near Reed Avenue.''

Here is a map posted on the Cheyenne Metropolitan Planning Organization [MPO] website:

Of the rail service, the Cheyenne Metropolitan Planning Organization says Planned Front Range Passenger Rail service may extend from Pueblo to Cheyenne with stops in Colorado Springs, Denver, Boulder, and Fort Collins. The Federal Railroad Administration is also studying future passenger rail routes connecting Cheyenne with Salt Lake City, Billings, Rapid City and beyond. Funding has not yet been secured for future passenger rail services.

The open house will be held Monday, March 17, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Laramie County Library Cottonwood Room, 2200 Pioneer Ave.
