A Chico, California man was arrested Friday after a chase that took multiple law enforcement agencies through two western Wyoming counties.

On Thursday, a Lincoln County Sheriff's deputy attempted to stop a stolen pickup truck, but the driver, 29-year-old Adam Rily, refused to stop, the Uinta County Sheriff's Office said on social media.

The chase took authorities off the main highway into a rural area. At some point, the vehicle "became incapacitated" in an off-road area. When law enforcement made contact with the vehicle, the driver was gone.

The Utah Highway Patrol sent a helicopter to search the area until dark, but they couldn't locate Rily.

On Friday, authorities caught a break when Rily was seen walking into a Maverik gas station in Evanston. Rily was arrested at roughly 1 p.m. Friday.
