Miracle Mike – Colorado’s Superstar Headless Chicken Was Real [VIDEO]

Some stories in history are so strange, it's very difficult to believe that they are actually true. Thus is the case of "Mike the Headless Chicken"!

Mike the Headless Chicken, or Miracle Mike as he was also called, was a Wyandotte chicken from Fruita, Colorado that lived almost two years with no head! Yes, you read that right.

A fluke slaughtering incident left 80% of the chicken's brain intact and allowed it to live 18 months with no head. Mike's owner, Lloyd Olsen reportedly made $4500 a month off the bird at the height of it's popularity back in 1947.

Although initially believed to be a hoax, Olsen took the bird to the University of Utah to explain how such a remarkable incident could be feasible.
