Springtime in the Rockies means snow for Wyoming this week, including a few inches of accumulation in Casper.

A number of winter weather warnings and advisories had been posted for areas of Wyoming as of early Monday, and K2 Radio Meteorologist Don Day says difficult travel is expected on mountain passes and higher elevations of I-80.

Casper is likely to see one to three inches of new snow accumulation Tuesday night, according to the National Weather Service. That snowfall is expected mainly after 11 p.m.

Monday was forecast to see a 60% chance of precipitation with little to no snow accumulation and some thunder also possible.

The chance of precipitation creeps up to 70% overnight Monday, with roughly one inch of new snow accumulation possible.

Less than an inch of accumulation is forecast for Tuesday, again with possible thunder and some patchy fog before 10 a.m.

Wednesday again brings a 60% chance of precipitation to Casper with less than half an inch of new snow accumulation possible.

Weather will remain dreary through Thursday, but sun and warmer temperatures should return as the week wraps up.
