Jamie Purcell's supporters wrote a letter on May 1 to the board of directors after it placed her on a "forced administrative leave."

The board meets at 4:30 p.m. on the second Thursday of every month at various city-owned recreation facilities.

Some sources declined to go on the record, saying they feared for retaliation against themselves and/or their children.

The trustees also granted the high schools the ability to plan their own graduations.
