The awards recognize exceptional leadership, commitment, and excellence in coaching.

Our most recent selections were Cheyenne East junior Maggie Madsen, Buffalo freshman Milan Monterastelli, and Star Valley senior Colton Cranney.

Cheyenne East junior Maggie Madsen, Powell junior Karee Cooley, and Big Horn sophomore Lyla Marney were the race champions in 4A, 3A, and 2A, respectively.

Per the WCA guidelines, each class’s top 10 finishers, including ties, received an award certificate at the state championships.

The race will be contested at the Little America Golf Course and the surrounding area for the second time.

The 2025 Wyoming High School Cross Country State Championships are in Cheyenne for the third straight year.

The conference championships in cross-country will take place on Thursday and Friday at six venues in the state.

Friday features races in Cody, Rock Springs, Thermopolis, and Wheatland. Wright hosts an event on Saturday.

Madison Brown of Evanston, Star Valley’s Colton Cranney, and Laramie’s Carson Moniz were selected as the most recent winners.

A cross-country runner and a football quarterback have been selected as the WyoPreps Athletes of the Week.

Wyoming High School cross country teams make their debut in the 2025 season this week.
