In a video Tuesday morning, Natrona County Health Officer Dr. Mark Dowell once again called on citizens to mask up and get their COVID-19 vaccine.

The Natrona County Health Officer added that vaccinations are ongoing for medical workers who are being exposed to COVID on a regular basis.

Natrona County's mask mandate will extend through at least January 8.

Natrona County Health Officer Dr. Mark Dowell briefed the community on what the mask mandate will look like for area residents and businesses.

But for Dowell — an infectious specialist — it would be wrong to ignore his training and not call for a mask mandate, he said.

The new order also allows gyms to operate, with the restrictions enforced by the business owner.

The loosened restrictions are a result of county residents's sacrifices during the last six weeks.
