Many more who knew Rossington well for 20, 30 or even 50 years took to social media to recognize the guitarist and songwriter's influence.

Though he was never a member of the group, the Marshall Tucker Band would have looked a whole lot different if they'd never run into this man.

If anyone had any doubts that this year's Beartrap Summer Festival wouldn't be one of the greatest years ever, those doubts were erased as soon as the first band took to the stage. Red June opened Beartrap Summer Festival 2012 and as soon as the first note rang out, festival-goers knew that they were in for what could possibly be the greatest Beartrap Festival of all time...

I don't know about you, but I am so excited for Beartrap this year!  There are so many great acts coming including our headliners, Marshall Tucker Band and Steve Earle.  Steve Earle is one of my all time favorites!  I just have to crank this one up every time I hear it...and I never get tired of it!  To get you ready for the weekend

One of the biggest bands of the 70's , The Marshall Tucker Band got its start in Spartanburg,S.C.when Doug Gray teamed up with Tommy Caldwell and Toy Caldwell, Paul T. Riddle, George McCorkle and Jerry Eubanks, borrowing the name "Marshall Tucker" from a piano tuner whose name was found on a key ring in their old rehearsal space...
