The Nicolaysen Art Museum, 400 E. Collins Drive, will be closed to the public for a month beginning Monday for remodeling projects, according to a news release from the City of Casper.

The museum will reopen at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10.

The projects include installing contemporary light fixtures in the lobby, stairways and conference room; painting the lobby, east hallway, stairway, landings and restrooms; and refinishing the hardwood floors, baseboards, wood doors, door casings and window trim.

The work will not affect the Wednesday Night Live performances in August. Concert-goers will have access to portable toilets during the performances.

The City of Casper, which owns the Nic property, awarded the $96,896 improvement project to Haass Construction Company, Inc. Revenues from the Optional One-Cent sales tax are paying for the project.

The nonprofit Nic collects, collects, preserves, and exhibits the work of contemporary artists for the community, according to the news release.
