Wyoming Game And Fish Miscue Opens 700 Licenses For Draw July 24th

Nearly 700 leftover full-priced elk, deer and antelope licenses that were not sold on the scheduled leftover license sales date will go on sale first-come, first-served July 24, 2014 at 8 a.m. The licenses are available to both residents and nonresidents online through the Game and Fish website or at license-selling agents and Game and Fish offices.

For approximately an hour on July 10, hunters purchasing group licenses were not receiving a confirmation of their purchase. Not knowing their licenses had actually been purchased prompted many of the applicants to reattempt their group purchase. Those additional purchases continued to decrease the remaining licenses and prevented some other hunters from purchasing a license.

When Game and Fish looked into the reason for the problem, they determined there was a coding error in group applications. The problem was corrected promptly and the Department contacted affected customers to resolve license purchase problems.

The Game and Fish apologizes for any inconvenience or confusion this license sales error has caused.
