Happy Birthday to Jay DeMarcus of Rascal Flatts (VIDEO)

Happy Birthday wishes go out to Rascal Flatts' member Jay DeMarcus, as he turns the big 40 today (Born April 26th, 1971). Jay is the second cousin to Flatts lead singer Gary LeVox and brother-in-law to country singer James Otto.

Before making it big as Rascal Flatts, Jay DeMarcus, Gary LeVox and Joe Don Rooney played regularly at a bar in Nashville's Printer's Alley. Their first choice for a group name was Deuces Wild, although it was being used by several bands.  So a piano-player friend told them of what he thought the perfect name for their group should be,  saying that "Rascal Flatts" was the name of his high school garage band.

Thus began the Rascal Flatts Era in country music!  Jay would meet his wife - Allison Alderson, a beauty queen from Tennessee - on the set of their music video  for "These Days" and together they have a beautiful daughter born in December 17, 2010.
