What Movie Can You Watch Over and Over? [VIDEO]
I used to watch a lot of movies! I say used to, because here in Wyoming there are so many outdoor experiences to be shared, sometimes I find it hard to stay at home long enough to take in as many movies as I did once upon a time.
However, I do ask the question - 'Name a movie you can watch over and over?' when I have studio guests and we play '8 Seconds with Rodeo Rick'. The game is just quick word association and many artist spend hours on the road or in hotel rooms with lots of time to kill and they usually have a favorite movie that keeps them entertained.
A new study has been released and it states that people on average will watch their favorite movie 29 times throughout their lifetimes.
According to the study, the overall most popular movie to watch over and over again is 'Raiders of the Lost Ark'.
Here's the rest of their list of the top 10 movies people love to watch over and over: Star Wars, Back to the Future, Home Alone, E.T., Jaws, Jurassic Park, Independence Day, Titanic and Alien.
I might be forced to admit that I've seen 'Back to the Future' more than any other movie on that list, but only because I use to work at a movie theater when it was released and would stand in the back of the theater and laugh at the adventures of Marty and Doc.
But this list seems a bit dated and honestly, I can't remember an artist interview where one of these movies were named. In fact, 'Dumb and Dumber' would probably be the movie of choice according to the artists I've interviewed in studio.
For me, I love the submarine movie 'U-571' and have probably watched it more than any other movie in my collection (love the depth charge scene), the movie Reign of Fire would be a close second. But also ranking high on my list are: Saving Private Ryan, Twister, The Princess Bride, Life Is Beautiful (in Italian with subtitles) and Top Gun. I'll bet I've watched each of these moves at least 20+ times.
So let me ask you the same question - Name a movie you can watch over and over?
