An Odd New Study Shows Wyoming’s Top Pariotic Movie
I have a problem with many of the "studies" that are supposed to represent an entire state or country. Most of those results are questionable, especially when they confidently post the results and show that only 3,000 people participated in the study.
3,000, representing over 335,000,000 people living in the U.S.?
That doesn't sound like an accurate representation.
Today's questionable study shows each state's most popular patriotic movie.
The study shows that Wyoming is in line with 24 other states, choosing the 1986 blockbuster Top Gun.
I agree that Top Gun is a patriotic movie that gets us pumped up, makes us wave the American flag, and makes us want to fly fighter jets, but is it the most popular patriotic movie for Wyomingites?
According to the study, the other four patriotic movies in Wyoming's top five are all from the 1990s.
I can see Saving Private Ryan and Independence Day as patriotic movies.
The Sandlot? I get the reference to baseball being America's pastime, but does that make a movie about kids playing baseball patriotic?
Forrest Gump?
Are those patriotic movies?
I would put these movies in the patriotic category before The Sandlot or Forrest Gump.
- American Sniper
- Lone Survivor
- Hacksaw Ridge
- The Patriot
- Red Dawn
- Zero Dark Thirty
- Patton
- Rocky IV
- Air Force One
- Miracle
- Top Gun: Maverick
