There's always some strange prediction that comes out and scares the crap out of people. The latest is a giant 'City-Killer' asteroid heading towards Wyoming.

Well, maybe not specifically Wyoming, but Earth. It may not even come close to Wyoming or Earth, but people need something to freak out about.

I was just talking about Y2K. Remember when computers would destroy the world, and we wouldn't make it? In Wyoming, when that happened, they just snickered and said, "Okay, hotshot, bring it on."

The recent announcement of the asteroid did its job, and people started freaking out. Kids were concerned, and families began planning for doom. Firstly, the asteroid is far enough away that it won't be close to Earth until 2032.

According to reports, Asteroid 2024 YR had a 3% chance of hitting us, meaning there's a 97% chance it's not coming anywhere close to Earth, let alone Wyoming.

7 years.

Wyoming's gambling population is pretty large. Just look at the number of slot machines. If you're willing to play a game of chance with your $20 bill, why not take a chance on whether or not this asteroid hits?

Oddsmakers at BetUS have a few novelty props you can bet on.

  • Will the asteroid hit? If so, you could get 40-1 odds.
  • How big will the asteroid be? Over or under 180 ft.
  • Over/ Under on how fast it will be traveling when it hits.
  • I think these Wyoming asteroid novelty props could win you big money.

  • Since Casper and Cheyenne are significantly larger than most other Wyoming cities, you would barely win anything if it hit close to them.
  • The odds are in your favor of it not hitting anywhere close to civilization.
  • Risk takers will throw money on the chance of it hitting close to Bill, WY.
  • Pick the Wyoming body of water that the asteroid will hit.
  • Those are some fantastic bets. If you're looking to gamble, they may be your money-makers. There is a downside to these fantasy bets. Astronomers have now confirmed that asteroid 2024 YR4 poses no threat to Earth and that there is zero probability that it will hit.
