The Cowboy State is full of talented artisans. From welders, carpenters, to crochet, Wyomingites like to work with their hands. Computers are great, but there is something magical about handcrafted items. Mikey Franco of Franco Snowshapes crafts snowboards out of Jackson, Wyoming.

The birth of this shop came to Mikey while he was injured. When he was in Japan, his back went out on him knocking him out for the season. The guys from Burton Snowboard decided to show him their shop. By career, he was always a snowboard instructor or working in the service industry, so making snowboards was a learning experience. Now he creates his Snowshapes right here in Wyoming.

He saw an opportunity to make snowboards that combined surfing and skateboarding. His experience from being the head instructor at Jackson Hole and knowledge of the sport game him a unique insight once he started crafting these snowboards. Today he is a local icon for the culture and business of snowboarding.

At Franco, we build every board with these parameters guiding our every move, every ingredient and every detail: performance, look, feel and durability. From American hardwood cores and house-cut veneers from the slopes of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort to high-tech ingredients like titanal, basalt, flax and carbon fibers, bio-resins and finally a beautiful hand-sprayed finish. And made in America, of course, at the base of the Teton Range - written on FrankoSnowshapes.com
