While attending the 51st Annual International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) Convention in Philadelphia recently, Bucky Covington was moved by a special honor he received from the organization’s president, Harold Schaitberger. The singer was presented with a custom made and personalized firefighter helmet to thank him for his passionate work with the organization’s charitable foundation, Help the Good Guys.

Covington has been working extremely close with the organization over the past year, helping to provide financial relief to injured firefighters and their families. The ‘Drinking Side of Country’ hitmaker has hosted numerous benefit events and has also made it a point to visit as many burn centers and burn camps that his time off from the road will allow. He has also made large donations to the cause from money raised through his music and merchandise sales.

Covington will continue to make his contributions to the Help the Good Guys fund when he releases his upcoming new album appropriately titled, ‘Good Guys,’ which hits stores on Sept. 11. A portion of the proceeds from the first week’s sales will benefit the IAFF Charitable Foundation.
