Wyoming’s New Online Rental Hub For Outdoor Lovers Is Awesome
If you love the outdoors and experiencing awesome adventures, you may find that booking a cabin, campsite, or house to stay in can be difficult. Sure, some sites like Airbnb, Orbitz, or VRBO are available, but they're not likely to show you that off-grid cabin or campsite near the heart of your adventure.
That will change because a Wyomingite with an adventurous spirit noticed those booking sites aren't the best options for adventure seekers.
Casper artist and entrepreneur Travis Glasgow is working on a concept that will make finding a place to stay close to your fishing, hunting, and outdoor adventure locations easier—all while offering a site for people looking to list their accommodations.
Your new option is called Cabin Maven.
Glasgow explains that Cabin Maven will be like no other booking site:
This is more of a specialty accommodation, more for catering to outdoor adventures. People who want to get out into the woods in remote areas they can book accommodation with Cabin Maven. This is more of a rugged type of business model.
If you find a cabin on Airbnb, most of the time, it will be more like a "Glamping" situation. With Cabin Maven, Glasgow wants to give adventure seekers and those who wish for more rugged accommodations the options they're looking for.
Also, the goal is to make it cheaper for people to list their rentals.
If you've ever listed with one of the other sites, you'll notice that the service fees are pretty high, which drives up the cost of your listing and possibly lowers the interest level.
Here are the two ways Cabin Maven will work.
Be a host—The site dashboard feature makes it simple for users to post their listings, monitor their bookings, interact with the bookers, manage their booking calendar, learn the best practices for preparing their rental for guests, and interact with the support staff and AI.
Unlike some other booking sites, Travis says the listing will only cost one monthly fee instead of a percentage of each booking.
Find a rental—Rental seekers can break down the locations they're looking for and add the type of rental, rates, and local amenities. For example, suppose you're looking for mountain views in Wyoming for between $50 and $300 per night. In that case, you can enter that criteria into your search, and everything that falls under that criteria will appear.
Once they populate, the rental property highlights are included in the listing. If you're looking for a place close to fishing opportunities and mountain biking trails, you'll be able to find it easily.
The official launch of Cabin Maven is June 1, but currently, the site is open to anyone who would like to list a rental or become familiar with it. When you get to the site, you'll see listings, but now they're just examples to show how they'll look when the site is up and running.
If you have a piece of property that isn't used most of the time, Cabin Maven can easily make some extra money by giving outdoor lovers a great option.
